This is an experimental blog on WordPress, which I have just started.
My main blog, Notes from underground, has been on Blogger, but, like many other Blogger users, I have been dissatisfied with the new “fully-featured” Blogger, in which half the features don’t work.
So if Blogger doesn’t improve soon, I’ll seriously consider moving that and my family history blog over to WordPress.

I guess I just got lucky when I chose WordPress more or less by accident. I do have a “place” at Blogger, but only so I can post comments there. No wonder I’ve had so much trouble! Half the time my human eyes can’t tell for sure what those letters are, first time, second time, either time. Glad you found your way here. You have a unique perspective to share. Welcome.

Moderation? Is there really a benefit to that hurdle? I’ve never bothered and never regretted taking down the fence.

Ah, it seems one has to be logged out in order to reply to comments! Just the opposite to Blogger, then.
I’m still not too happy with the widgets in the sidebar. The “Recent visitors” comes across much uglier than in Blogger, and the visitor count one seems to display some of the code as well as the number of visitors. So I don’t think I’ll be moving my other blogs from Blogger just yet.

Ah, I see one has to click in the blank space for the comment space to become visible!

I think you’ve got it, Steve. Position your cursor inside the comment box below the Leave a Reply headline and type. When you’re finished, click the Submit Comment button.
Don’t logout. I don’t know how you got that idea.
Your widgets do look a little funky, but other free WordPress themes are nicer and you can easily change them with a click until you find one that does (most of) what you want. There is no perfect theme.

Thanks for the encouragement, David!
I’ll keep trying.
