A case of conscience

Just over a month ago Maria and Mapuli Nduli were murdered in their home at Stinkwater in Tshwane by robbers. One of them had a child at school who was left an orphan.

A few days ago a man came to Girlie Shivambo, half-sister of the murdered women, and told her he could not sleep at night and could not eat. She said she had troubles of her own, so why was he telling her this?

He then confessed to the murder, and said that since then he could not eat or sleep, because whenever he did so, he would see the two murdered women.

Girlie Shivambo went to a nearby tuck shop and phoned the police at Hammanskraal who came and arrested the four men, to Zimbabweans and two South Africans. The police started to beat them up, but she told them no, let them tell you what they told me, and the confessed to the crime, and said that none of them had been able to eat or sleep since the murder.

It is good to know that at least some people still have a conscience.
