Val woke up and found a message from Simon: “If you see Samwise running around with a potato it is because I threw it for him. I couldn’t find a ball and he had caught a hedgehog and was running around with it in his mouth and I didn’t want to hurt either him or it so I needed something to make him dump it.”
It must be about 20 years since the last time we saw a hedgehog in our garden.
