Blogger working again

On Sunday afternoon my access to Blogger blogs on Blogspot was restored, as mysteriously as it was removed.

I had already moved my family history blog to WordPress, but decided to leave my Notes from underground blog where it is for the time being, though if the access problem recurs I might move it over as well.

It appears that not everyone suffered from the “403 forbidden” message, but quite a number did, to judge from the messages in the Blogger help group on Google.

  • Did you find the migration from Blogger to WordPress smooth? Considering it myself, but am staying on Blogger for now.

  • The migration was very smooth and painless. Create a new blog with the desired name, import the posts and comments from the other blog, and then it’s there. The only thing that didn’t come actoss (as far as I can see) was some comments from Haloscan.

  • I second Steve on the migration from Blogger to WordPress. It was a piece of cake for me, too, even though I was using the older Blogger template. I was unable to import Haloscan comments, but I had already incorporated the most substantive comments as updates to the posts themselves, so it wasn’t a great loss.
