More entropy in the blogosphere

Is the blogosphere dying?
More and more things seem not to be working.
Every time I go into Amatomu I get the message
Oops, you hit a database error. It’s either something we did, or something you did. Yeah, it’s probably your fault.
It used to happen once a week or so, but now it happens every time.
And more [...]

Google hacked?

When I tried to check my Blogger blog, Notes from underground, and my Gmail account, I got this message:

Weird spam comments

Over the past few days I’ve been doing bulk deletes of weird spam comments that take the form:
sKZFks hjaulmycjnau, dplobwoxjpqd, [link=http://adslmramajek.com/]adslwevmajek[/link], http://rtqcqxfrkmlt.com/
Does anyone know any reason why anyone would take the time to post this gibberish when it is only going to be deleted?
The format appears to be exactly the same [...]

Blogging statistics – cities

Over on my other blog I recently remarked on the countries people came from to read my blogs: Notes from underground: Blog statistics – countries, because of new statistics provided by Amatomu. But the cities they come from is even more interesting.
The first thing that stands out is that only people in Pretoria and Cape [...]

Human sexuality — bridging the gap

My post today is part of a larger initiative of more than 50 bloggers all sharing their thoughts on how to ‘bridge the gap’. You can check out the other links at www.btgproject.blogspot.com.
I’m still wondering why I’m participating in this synchroblog, since I don’t really have anthing coherent to say, but since I have [...]

BlogCatalog group for Orthodox Christian bloggers

I recently started a BlogCatalog group for Orthodox Christian bloggers, because I looked for one and there wasn’t one.
BlogCatalog is one of a number of social blogrolling sites on the Web, like MyBlogLog, which let you keep lists of blogs you like to vist, and also see who has visited yours recently.
At one time I [...]

Two years old today

Khanya blog is two years old today.
It began as a kind of experiment, when many of my blogging friends were moving from Blogger to WordPress. Blogger had recently been “upgraded”, which meant that lots of bells and whistles were being added, but many of the regular features no longer worked. As Blogger seemed to be [...]

Emerging worship and postmodern sermons

Last Sunday night I went to the youth service at the NG Kerk at Kameeldrift, where fellow-blogger Cobus van Wyngaard was preaching.
I calculated that it was 20 years since I’d last been to a Sunday service at an NG Kerk, when the husband of a colleague at work had been inducted as a youth minister, [...]

Where have all the bloggers gone?

Where have all the bloggers gone?
Gone to Twitter every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
It seems that entropy has struck the blogosphere, well, actually the whole Internet.
A couple of years ago I was asking why there were so few black bloggers. Now I’m asking why the number of bloggers is diminishing. More [...]
