Happy new year!

1 September 2008

Today many newspapers may mention that it is the first day of Spring.

Some may mention that it is the beginning of Ramadan.

But I wonder how many will mention that it is the Orthodox New Year?

The first three days of September are also ones on which Orthodox Christians think about the environment and care of the created world.

Anyway, here’s a picture to welcome Spring:

Happy New Year to you and yours, Steve: hope it’s a good one! Hoping it’s a better year for Orthodoxy here in the UK too 😉
